The new GM has been making some much better products lately compared to what it did in the past. New vehicles from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and even GMC are showing significant improvements in quality, reliability, safety, handling, fuel economy, etc. The latest car to be released from Chevrolet is the Orlando. It is an interesting looking vehicle. Some people may hate the style but others may love it. I think its unique and it should get some heads turning in its direction when it goes for sale this October in Canada.
Handling is said to be very good for this crossover and it also happens to be very refined in its operation. It comes with features such as bluetooth connectivity, available 18 inch wheels, split folding rear seats, and all power accessories.
Canadian prices will start at just under $20 000 for an LS (basic model) and could stretch to almost $30 000 for a loaded LTZ model. It is expected that young families will be the main buyers of this vehicle. This is due to its good fuel economy, versatile interior configurations, car-like handling and affordable price. The Orlando will be facing some tough competition from the better executed Mazda5, which is more powerful and more fuel efficient. Also the Kia Rondo, Dodge Journey, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CRV, and Nissan's Rouge. It will be interesting to see if the buying public will give the Orlando a chance, or just shy away to the established competition.
Chevrolet's Orlando has a very good chance in this segment and it has been given unique style, good safety features, cargo ability, and it has an engine which is more than sufficient for most everyday situations. After it's October release only time will tell how successful this vehicle can become.
