Nissan GT-R

Everyone seems to love Nissans GT-R. There is no doubt that this is a very capable car, powerful, and it definitely is affordable compared to the big boys from Europe. However it is an ugly car, a very ugly car. How can a such a capable vehicle be ruined with such terrible styling? The previous version of this car was gorgeous in every way but it seems that Nissan has somehow lost their way.

Sure it has a 3.8 L V6 twin turbo engine producing 530 HP and 448 lb-ft of torque, which is very respectable. It can hit 100 KM/H in 3.1 seconds which is fantastic thanks to the all wheel drive set up. But despite this, it is still not as nimble as a Porsche 911 Turbo, nor will this car get you the respect that lets say, a Ferrari or Benz AMG would.

If all your interested in is a car that can run around the racetrack as if it was glued to it, then this car is for you. But if you want to impress your neighbours, tough luck because after all, at the end of the day it is just a Nissan. The plus side here is that this car is an all season vehicle - no storing it for the winter because the all wheel drive set up is very advanced in this application. And the best plus about this car is that with a skilled driver, it can easily beat a Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, even a Ferrari, providing a circuit race is the venue for the day.

I have absolutely nothing against the GT-R or even Nissan for that matter. I actually like Nissan's Altima,  and would love an opportunity to take this GT-R for a spin at the race track. I just can't get over the fact that Japans only true super car, looks nothing like one at all. You get more style driving in a Nissan Maxima, Acura TL Type-S, or even a Lexus IF-S. The Lexus LF-A is a statement in itself but it sadly is far too expensive, meaning Nissan should have taken more initiative to produce something a little more seductive, just to fully win over the public. If I was a millionaire, I would own this car in a heart beat. But if I were only able to afford one super car, I would skip this one, only because it does not look exotic like the competition. We all love good, sound engineering, but wrap it up in such a doll package, and out the window it goes. Hopefully with the next redesign, Nissan will get it right.
