The S-Class is without a doubt Benz's most luxurious model combining luxury with performance with breath taking style. For the 2012 model year, the flagship car for Mercedes Benz is going to be replaced with an all new model, with 4 different body styles to suit everyones taste. It will consist of an:
> Regular wheelbase sedan
> Stretched wheelbase sedan
> 2 Door coupe
> 4 Seat convertible
It should be noted that the 2 door coupe will replace the current CL Class permanently. There will be multiple engine options including diesel, a gasoline electric hybrid, and of course the usual gasoline engines. For the first time a 4 cylinder engine will be available which comes with 204 hp, and an AMG version putting out 650 hp for the chronically impatient.
Anyone who is familiar with this brand will know that the S-Class is the most technology packed vehicle in the Benz lineup. One interesting new feature which is called "Magic Body Control", uses 2 cameras to scan the road ahead, and will compensate for any irregularities within the road in merely milliseconds. Also "Magic Light Control", consists of headlamps full of LED's with adaptive light patterns varying with speed, weather, and even steering angle to give you the greatest visibility and safety.
In Europe the S-Class sedan has fallen behind in sales and is surpassed by BMW's 7 Series and Audi's A8. However in the Canadian market it single-handedly beats out the aforementioned vehicles, even the Lexus LS cannot keep up. More photos and details will be released closer to cars launch in 2012.
