2012 Hyundai Veloster

Hyundai is on a role lately rolling off stylish new products like you wont believe. First the Sonata, then Elantra, then Accent, and now the all new 2012 Veloster. This car is a 3 door hatchback which supposedly has great handling, great fuel economy, great safety, and all comes at an affordable price of $18 999 Canadian. Former Volkswagen designer Peter Schreyer is the man responsible for Hyundai's liberal new design language, and it certainly will pay off for this brand.

Featuring a 1.6L, 4 cylinder direct injection engine producing 138 hp & 123 lb-ft of torque, this car is no rocket, but early 2012 a Turbo version is expected to be released. This is also the first Hyundai to feature a dual clutch transmission with 6 gears. Equipped with this transmission you will average 7.0L /100km city and an amazing 4.9 highway. Fuel economy seems to be Hyundai's strong suit. There is also a 6 speed manual transmission available for those who prefer a less efficient, more complicated ride to work every morning.

Inside the car, you will be shocked to hear what features are standard or optional: heated seats, bluetooth, 450 watt 8 speaker audio with USB input, 7 inch navigation screen with voice recognition, proximity key with push button start, fog lights, LED headlight accents, trip computer, rearview camera, leather seats, sunroof, and even RCA connectors. Not to mention 18 inch wheels on the outside.

This car will definitely worry competitors such as Honda Civic, Scion tC, VW Golf, and possibly Mini Cooper and even Fiat 500. It's an interesting car, I just can't wait to see what the turbo version of this car will be capable of.
